Our Story

Built on a Promise Made on a Training Pitch in Bolivia

One remarkable football school. Ten mysterious trophies. A journey that would change Regent's Park forever.

Book a Trial

In 2006, I travelled to Santa Cruz, Bolivia, in South America, to visit the famous Tahuichi Football Academy.

I'd been recommended to visit because I wanted to discover how the world's most successful football schools developed young players and built winning teams.

Nothing quite prepared me for what I found.

I remember walking into Tahuichi's trophy room. It was like stepping into Aladdin's cave of football.

Everywhere I looked were trophies and championships won across South America and around the world. It was an extraordinary collection, reflecting years of success and a remarkable tradition of developing young footballers.

And then I noticed ten trophies.

I asked what they were.

'Those are the Gothia Cups,' I was told.

I'd never heard of the Gothia Cup.

I discovered that it was an international youth football tournament held in Gothenburg, Sweden, bringing together young footballers from across the world.

I was amazed that a football school in Bolivia had achieved such extraordinary success in a tournament thousands of miles away.

Later, standing on Tahuichi's training pitch, I made a promise to myself.

I would return to Regent's Park, take our young footballers to the Gothia Cup and one day develop teams capable of winning our own trophies.

That promise became one of the driving ambitions behind our football school.

Since 2006, we've coached hundreds of young players, developed our own coaching programme and built a long-standing team of coaches who share our passion for helping children improve and enjoy football.

And the Gothia Cup has become an extraordinary part of our journey.

Today, we're preparing for our 16th Gothia Cup.

Over the years, our young footballers have travelled to Sweden, competed against teams from around the world, formed lasting friendships and returned with memories they'll never forget.

Some have progressed into professional football. Many others have continued playing because they simply love the game.

Both make us enormously proud.

Of course, the dream of winning the Gothia Cup remains.

But what motivates me just as much today is giving more young people the opportunity to experience the tournament for themselves.

To travel together. To represent their football school. To test themselves against the world. And to discover just how wonderful football can be.

Twenty years after walking into that trophy room in Bolivia, the ambition is as strong as ever.

To develop better footballers, build exceptional teams and create experiences that last a lifetime.

★★★★★
“Regents Park FC has meant so much to our family. The amazing coaching has helped both our sons grow not only in football but also in confidence, resilience, and self-belief. From day one, we've felt welcomed into this community. Our first Gothia Cup with our 12 year old was unforgettable — seeing him build strong friendships with his teammates and the smile on his face throughout the experience was incredibly special.”
