Match days can be a nervous or exciting time, but how do you prepare for them? This blog offers some advice on the best ways to prepare for a game.
1. Watch a player you admire on TV / YouTube. If you are a striker, you might want to watch someone like Harry Kane or Marcus Rashford on Match of The Day or YouTube to see how they finish their shots, the positions they take up, and the actions they do in the game that makes them a great player.
2. Visualise your game. This could be the night before, or in the morning on your way to the game. Visualise how you are going to play. Envision you having a great performance, full of confidence, playing your best game. Psychologically this can give you an edge and provide extra confidence and motivation going into your game.
3. Check in with your coach. Your coach may have some specific feedback or instructions for you before your match. This might help you tactically understand your role better for that game.
Best of luck for your match this weekend and we look forward to seeing you at Regents Park tomorrow!
