Regents Girls Get Their First Win of the Season

The U14 Capital Girls Team are going from strength to strength and their hard work is beginning to pay off. They got their first league win last weekend winning 3-0 against Broomwood Football Club.

At the beginning of the match, the target I set out to the team was not to worry about the scoreline and to focus on keeping in our positions, as well as our structure.

The girls did just this and it paid off. At the back, Camy did a great job of leading the defence and made some great decisions with her passing. On the wing, Isabelle’s work rate was outstanding, with some great runs and passes and helped to win the ball back defensively many times too. Upfront as always, Alexandra made some superb runs and scored some amazing goals and worked hard alongside Maria.

In the Midfield Mia made many good tackles and passes to help us keep possession of the ball in the oppositions half, as well as working well with Toni and helping develop her skills in that position. And not to forget some beautiful saves from our goalkeeper Chloe.

We now have a tough cup game ahead against a team top of the league in the league above us, but I have every belief in this strong team that we can go out there and leave our mark.

Bring it on!
