U9's Rebels on the good path

Our amazing U9’s Rebels are just starting their path but they are already showing all the talent on the squad and this last Saturday they had an amazing performance at Regent’s Park Youth League. Check out the match report from head coach Chloe Spiteri.

U9's Rebels 8-5 Rockets B

Here's the match report from head coach Chloe Spiteri:

''This was the U9 Rebels 2nd game since the season started. From coming off a loss just a week ago, the Rebels were determined to turn this around and get a win...and they did just that!

They all turned up to training before the match with a positive attitude, ready to get stuck in and work as a team to get that win. In the first half, the Rebels dominated the game with their fantastic passing and good team work, as well as had possession majority of the half. Having scored 5 goals in the first half, this gave the team great confidence going into the second half.

As the second half approached, a few subs were made to give them a chance to play knowing we were a few goals ahead. The game started to become a little struggle with the opposition coming back with a more determined attitude and kept pressing on us and managed to score a few goals past us. The score was then close at 6-5. At this point and the other team was beginning to put big pressure on us. They managed to keep getting past our defence and out run us.

I then had to make the big decision to take most the subs off and revert back to the starting line up and rotate the wing between another sub. We then started to take change in the game again. There was a lot of good passes and once again we was mainly in their half creating a lot of shots at the goal. Towards the end of the match, fitness started to decline a little but everyone kept their head up and managed to get a 8-5 win.

I am proud of everyone's effort and feel if we keep this good work up, we have a chance to win the league.''
