Good game with Watford Ladies Development Reserves

Decent performance in the Greater London Womens Division 2 league

Regent's continued improvement from their pre-season preparations saw a hard-fought 1-5 baptism at Watford Ladies Home ground, reports Mauricio.

Both teams started on the front foot, with Watford taking control of the early stages which saw a hard working Regent's team forced into defending early on, before we lost 3 quick goals through a combination of rustiness and lack of confidence initially. This changed though when winger Sheldon was able to get a shot away and scored after a purposeful run into the area at the 20 minute stage.

After the Regent's goal, the rest of the half passed with few chances of note but saw Regent's growing in confidence.

The second half was similar to the first, as both sides put in plenty of effort without building up any real spells of pressure.

But the final 20 minutes was all Watford, No.23 for Watford was a player and she was causing havoc with the Regent's team and they fell to a superb headed goal from the Watford centre half.

Regent's responded well to this and forced Watford to work hard

Regent's Women continue their Division 2 league debut at home to Hackney Women Reserves at Regent's Park Hub, kick-off at 10.30am.
